Peshawar Zalmi vs Karachi Kings (PZ vs KK) Prediction is placed here. Karachi Kings will take on the Peshawar Zalmi in the third game of the second edition of this Pakistan Super League. Dubai will host this match as well on Friday and the game begins at 8 pm local time.
Karachi Kings Is favorable
Peshawar Zalmi Team: Darren Sammy (captain), Mohammad Hafeez, Chris Jordan, Samit Patel, Kamran Akmal, Iftikhar Ahmed, Harris Sohail, Hasan Ali, Mohammad Asghar, Shahid Afridi, Sohaib Maqsood, Eoin Morgan, Wahab Riaz, Tilakaratne Dilshan, Marlon Samuels, Andre Fletcher, Khushdil Shah, Shakib Al Hasan, Tamim Iqbal, Imran Khan (jr), Junaid Khan, M. Irfan Khan
It wasn’t the best of starts for the Peshawar Zalmi in terms of the result of their opening game against the defending champions Islamabad United but that is not taking away from the fact that they were quite competitive till the very end. It was only some hard-hitting from the United batsmen, Dwayne Smith and Brad Haddin and extended delays during the game that looked to have affected the Zalmis in the encounter, something they would like to prevent the Karachi Kings from doing this game.
Peshawar started off on a poor note when Mohammad Hafeez had a fling at a wide one first ball from Mohammad Irfan and earned himself a golden duck. It was only Dawid Malan and Kamran Akmal’s aggressive second wicket stand of 122 runs that kept the Peshawar side in the game and in fact should have even taken them to over 200 at one stage – after all they were 122 for one from 11.2 overs at that stage.
However, once Malan departed for 43, the rest of the side fell apart at the seams, stumbling to 169 for eight in the 19th over. Akmal top-scored with 88, but there was no-one else who helped the team to get going. And that is what will need to change on a flat surface like the one that was on offer in Dubai.
The Kumar Sangakkara-led Karachi Kings have the team to go the distance. Sangakkara might not have the best of form in the Big Bash League but he does bat better on surfaces like the one there will be in Dubai.
Sangakkara also has Ravi Bopara for company, who had won the man-of-the-tournament award last season which should hold him in a good stead but the problem is the pitch might not help his brand of bowling. The one player the pitch will help is Chris Gayle who was transferred over from the Lahore Qalandars and he will relish the ball coming on to the bat – and one can expect a big score here from him.
Among others Babar Azam, Shoaib Malik and Mohammad Amir will lead the Pakistani juggernaut to help the Kings to start as favourites.
